Classic Hip-Hop is Westwood One's new 24-hour format (replacing The Rhythm) reaching 25- to 54-year-olds who have matured in age, lifestyle, and social awareness. This diverse group of listeners grew up embracing Hip Hop culture and listening to Hip Hop and now, while older, this group still follows the latest trends in technology, entertainment, and fashion. WW1 calls them “The Hip-Hop Nation!”

Previously, the satellite-driven format was known as Old School Hip-Hop and R&B and later Classic Hip-Hop and R&B and it combined Old School Hip-Hop/Rap and Contemporary R&B music from the late 1980s to the year 2000 with much of the core playlist from the 1990s, design to target today’s more mature Generation X listeners.
