"Telepathy" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Christina Aguilera for the soundtrack album, The Get Down. It features the collaboration of American guitarist Nile Rodgers. The song was written by Sia Furler, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen, and was produced by Elliott Wheeler and Baz Luhrmann. "Telepathy" was released by RCA Records on August 12, 2016. The song was characterized as a funky disco track that incorporates elements of guitar riffs. The lyrics are about the synergy of a good relationship. "Telepathy" received mostly positive reviews from music critics. The track topped the US Dance Club Songs chart, becoming Aguilera's ninth number-one.
Background
Before being released, information was leaked that Aguilera and Nile Rodgers were to record a song for the soundtrack of the TV series "The Get Down" created by Baz Luhrmann for Netflix. The song was written by Sia Furler and has been defined as a piece of disco, inspired by the music of the 70's period. Aguilera sings: "I've got you and you've got me/ I know you and you know me/ We've got telepathy." Speaking about the track, The Get Down’s supervising producer, Nelson George, said, “Its underlying beats are a reference to the 1970s vogueing anthems popular at vogue-club balls like the House of LaBeija.” In August 23, 2016 the track was available for radio-airplay in Italy as a remix by producer Malay entitled "Malay Mix".
The song was played in a scene from episode six of The Get Down, in which Jaden Smith’s character, Marcus “Dizzee” Kiplin, is at a LGBT dance party. Sexual tension rises and his female friend kisses him on the dance floor. Then, as the music swirls, his friend Thor (Noah Le Gros) declares “my turn," and goes in for a smooch.

Robbie Daw writing for Idolator complimented "Xtina sings beautifully amidst a swirling wall of sound that never lets up on the euphoric “Telepathy.” Daily Mail's Sameer Suri positively viewed the track's as "Aguilera bringing her breathtaking blend of growling and belting to a disco anthem". Danny Schwartz from HotNewHipHop write "Telepathy" is very much in that disco mode. easy to listen to, easy to dance to, a disco ball, shimmering, illuminating a room of lovers & friends who came here to forget about their troubles. Disco lives!!" Commercially, "Telepathy" topped the US Dance Club Songs chart for the chart issue dated November 12, 2016, marking her ninth number-one song.

A music video for "Telepathy" was directed by Hannah Lux Davis. It was released on October 30, 2016.
