Marcus Lloyd Butler (born 18 December 1991) is an English YouTube vlogger, known for his eponymous comedy channel "Marcus Butler" (formerly "Marcus Butler TV"). His second channel, MoreMarcus, has daily content varying from vlogs, reaction videos to product testing videos. His third channel, which he no longer uploads on, is MarcusButlerGames. It has since become a running joke on his channel.

Career

Marcus Butler started on YouTube creating music and video mixes and edited sports footage while in college.

In 2010, he created his YouTube channel, Marcus Butler TV, at viewer request. Butler has been involved in a number of collaborations with other YouTubers, including: Jim Chapman, Alfie Deyes, Caspar Lee, Tyler Oakley, Joe Sugg, Zoella, Connor Franta, Lilly Singh, Troye Sivan, ex girlfriend Niomi Smart, Joey Graceffa, Oli White, Louise Pentland, Conor Maynard and many others.

He was part of the 'YouTube Boyband' that raised money for Comic Relief and was featured in The Guardian. The song for Comic Relief was "It's all about You(tube).

Butler's book, Hello Life, which is part autobiography and part self-help book, was published on 28 July 2015 in the UK and in the US on 10 November 2015.

As of December 2015, Butler's main YouTube channel has over 4.6 million subscribers (4,624,723 as of December 9th of 2017) and over 379 million video views, and is the 336th most subscribed channel on YouTube; his second channel "MoreMarcus" has over 2 million subscribers (2,016,217 as of the December 9th of 2017) and over 260 million video views.

Butler was mentioned by The Telegraph as one of "Britain's most influential Tweeters" in 2013. As of January 2017, Butler has over 3 million followers on Twitter and over 3.6 million on Instagram.

Butler, along with Alfie Deyes, featured on the 13th series of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV in 2016. This was the final ever series of the show.

Butler was a contestant in the 2016 edition of Celebrity MasterChef. He was eliminated in the quarter final.

In 2016, Butler was featured in YouTube Rewind alongside fellow YouTubers.

Music

Butler was part of a "YouTube Boyband", a group creation created to raise awareness. Also involving Jim Chapman, Alfie Deyes, Joe Sugg, and Caspar Lee; they raised money and awareness for Comic Relief. On 22 January 2016, Butler released a song with Conor Maynard called "I'm Famous". It entered the UK Singles Chart on 29 January 2016 at number 34.
