Declined A7
I declined your A7 at Hassan mohamed isse Goodir, since mayor is an assertion of significance. I've BLP PRODed it, however. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:05, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, I thought that might happen for that one. I did try to look up the place (and mayor), didn't find anything; I decided on balance that it wasn't a credible claim, especially when I saw the users talk page which shows several previous similar deletions. But I understand your point; it does no harm, leaving it a while. No worries, thanks for telling me. 86.20.193.222 (talk) 03:08, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, very poor English but Puntland seems to be a place so I thought claiming to be a mayor of one of its capitals could be credible, especially considering that i'm assuming municipal governments in Somali likely don't have a big web presence, especially in English. Likely will be deleted in 7 days, but might as well give them a chance since its not an attack or an advert. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:11, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- Ah, look at this, he does exist: . TonyBallioni (talk) 03:18, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- OK; I also found 86.20.193.222 (talk) 03:28, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Could you please be more careful...
Could you please be more careful? You slapped a {{g4}} on Mohammed Tahar, aka Yasir al-Silmi, an individual with hundreds of new references.
Be advised that {{G4}} SHOULD ONLY BE APPLIED when the new version is "substantially identical to the deleted version" Geo Swan (talk) 04:06, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- Where did you copy/paste it from? 86.20.193.222 (talk) 04:22, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- Why would you ask this question? Geo Swan (talk) 04:36, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- There are copyright issues. For example, the exact phrase He is the younger brother of Ali Abdullah Ahmed, one of the three Guantanamo detainees who died in custody also appears in the deleted 2012 version of the article. 86.20.193.222 (talk) 04:47, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- Why would you ask this question? Geo Swan (talk) 04:36, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- How do you know what is in the deleted version? Only administrators have access to the deleted material. Surely, if you are an administrator, you should not be making substantive edits from an IP address?
- Why are you editing from an IP address, anyhow?
- With regard to your copyright concern -- if you (somehow) have access to the deleted article, check who contributed the passage you are concerned about. Geo Swan (talk) 04:54, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
could you please explain...
I am concerned that you may be nominating articles for deletion without being sufficiently familiar with the wikipedia's deletion policies.
I became familiar with you, when you slapped a {{g4}} on ISN 679. That was inappropriate, since g4 is only to be used when a new article is a duplicate of a previously deleted article, and that didn't apply.
I saw you slapped another G4 on another article where it didn't seem appropriate.
Since then I saw you applied a {{prod}} to Phil Tan, with the deletion justification "There does not seem to be significant coverage about this person in independent, reliable sources." Well Misplaced Pages:Notability_(music) has a section, Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles, which says: "Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award."
Did you familiarize yourself with WP:MUSIC, prior to making this nomination?
Is there a reason you felt you could ignore the criteria in WP:MUSIC? Geo Swan (talk) 10:13, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
