This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Misplaced Pages's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Misplaced Pages's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Misplaced Pages should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Misplaced Pages's copyright policy.

In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail.

Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=22 January 2025}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle).Fair usetrue

Description

Article

Fugitive Pieces (film)

Portion used

Because the image is a film poster, a form of product packaging, the entire image is needed to identify the product, properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image.

Low resolution?

The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.

Purpose of use

For fair use on Fugitive Pieces (film):

  • The image is placed in the infobox at the top of article about the film, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for.
  • It is used for identification and critical commentary of the work for which it was created.
  • It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone.
  • Use of the image does not in any way harm the ability of the companies concerned to sell the work.
  • Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the artist's providing graphic design services and in turn marketing films to the public.
Replaceable?

As a film poster, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the images from the movie poster would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary.

Other information

Use of the album cover in the article complies with Misplaced Pages non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.

Licensing

CopyrightedThis image is of a poster, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher or the creator of the work depicted. It is believed that the use of scaled-down, low-resolution images of posters qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States.
