The song was first released to radio stations in Latin America, in the summer of 2001 in its Spanish form, it was later issued to radio in Australia and New Zealand in its original English version, when the single was physically released it charted inside the top forty in Australia, but it climbed to number eight in its ninth week and reaching its peak of number-six on its twelfth week spending nine weeks inside the top ten and twenty-nine weeks inside the chart selling over 35,000 copies being certified Gold by the ARIA. The song managed to break into the top five in New Zealand where it spent twenty weeks inside the charts. In Argentina, the song managed to reach number-one after the massive airplay of its Spanish version, in Mexico it became another top ten single for Williams. The song made an appearance in the Irish charts in 2001 when the late Irish singer Joe Dolan recorded it. Indeed, so happy was Joe with his version of the song that he named a Greatest Hits collection after it.
