Taoyuan City (Chinese: 桃園; pinyin: Táoyuán Shì; Wade–Giles: T'ao-yüan) is the capital city of Taoyuan County in Taiwan, Republic of China, located in the northwestern part of the island.

"Taoyuan" means "peach garden," since the area used to have many peach blossoms.

Taoyuan is the native home to the Plains tribes of Aborigines. Taoyuan's sister city is Irvine, California.
