By the way- I noticed you're having trouble with the coding for signing messages on talk pages. I don't blame you; it's not very intuitive. Cedarhurst, New York

One only has to take a drive down Central Avenue, especially on a Saturday afternoon, to see the impact of the presence of a substantial Orthodox Jewish community in Cedarhurst, a presence that exists elsewhere in the Five Towns, most notably in Lawrence and Woodmere, with a growing community in Hewlett. Cedarhurst is home to several large and rapid growing synagogues that serve this community. The information and category identifying Cedarhurst does not have anything to do with being 100% of the population or of "controlling" the village based on the ethnicity of the Mayor or members of the Board of Education. It has to do with presence within the community. No offense is intended should ne taken by those who are not Orthodox Jews nor should this be read to exclude any other ethnic or religious groups. I'm not Orthodox Jewish, and I've never been to Cedarhurst. I have no horse in this race. But if the town is 60% Orthodox, that sounds to me like a significant population of Orthodox Jewish people, enough to make including the category useful for people looking for Orthodox Jewish communities on Misplaced Pages. If 100% Orthodox Jewish population were a requirement for the category, then there wouldn't be any communities at all on the list, right? -FisherQueen 17:51, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't know that much about Cedarhurst except what I've read on Misplaced Pages and your talk page messages. Your comment on Alansohn's talk page indicated that about 40% of the community is not Orthodox. I found that 60% of the community is Orthodox by reading your comment and subtracting 40 from 100.

By the way- I noticed you're having trouble with the coding for signing messages on talk pages. I don't blame you; it's not very intuitive.
