The President of Georgia (ge: საქართველოს პრეზიდენტი) is the head of the state and commander-in-chief of Georgia. Presidents serve five-year terms.
Duties
The President awards state decorations and has the power to grant pardons.
Before the amendments to the Constitution made in February 2004 the President also served as the head of government.
Oath
On the third Sunday after the presidential elections the inauguration is held. The President takes an oath before God and the Nation:
