Thank you for being one of Misplaced Pages's top medical contributors!
- please help translate this message into the local language
[REDACTED] | The Cure Award |
In 2013 you were one of the top 300 medical editors across any language of Misplaced Pages. Thank you so much for helping bring free, complete, accurate, up-to-date medical information to the public. We really appreciate you and the vital work you do! |
We are wondering about the educational background of our top medical editors. Would you please complete a quick 5-question survey? (please only fill this out if you received the award)
Thanks again :) --Ocaasi, Doc James and the team at Wiki Project Med Foundation

Research on the "thanks" function
2.5 years ago, you posted this. Since it's been a while, this might be irrelevant to you, but I've recently become fairly familiar with the MediaWiki database schema so I would probably be able to extract the thanks data if you're still interested. Retro (talk | contribs) 17:22, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Retro: That would be terrific! I'm actually working on a project about gilding on Reddit and it would be interesting to include data from Misplaced Pages thanking. Andrew 19:15, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
- I have a question: how are you processing and analyzing the data? Are you using a programming language to assist in processing? If you're using Python, I could probably just create and send you a simple script to filter the logging database dump to only contain thanks data; otherwise, it should probably be pretty straightforward to figure something else out. - @Retro: I work with Python, R, and SQL. I'd really appreciate any help, including source code. Andrew 01:13, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest
[REDACTED] | US Banknote Contest | |
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |

Hi Andrew. Slightly concerned. You appear to have me noted as having contributed to Inset Day. However, I haven't made any successful contributions to Wiki for some months and am not familiar with the contents of Inset Day in any event. I did attempt to log in elsewhere today but failed because I couldn't recall my password. Therefore, I clicked to reset and have been waiting for new password. After several hours, no email with instructions has appeared and I am wondering if someone has hacked my Username (Fuzzfox) to make the entry you mention. There has been some unusual activity on my computer lately that malware has sorted out (I hope!) and maybe this is part of that assault. Just a guess. However, if this is so, I'd be obliged to receive advice on what best to do. I would prefer to keep my username - with reset password - but if the account has been compromised, should I open a new one? (----)
ArbCom 2019 election voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Questions (from inexperienced user)
Hi Andrewman327, I wonder if it's ok now to remove your (page curation) notability tag from this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/Ars_Moriende I believe the album presented here is important, and the article lists reliable sources. Is there a reason for this tag, has the problem been fixed in the meantime, or if not, what can I do to assist? Always willing to learn!
