Elections were held using the Single Transferable Vote method of proportional representation (PR–STV).
History
The constituency was created by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1969, and abolished by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1980. It was therefore used only for the 1973 and 1977 general elections to the 20th and 21st Dáils.
