Clock Tower is a survival horror video game series created by Human Entertainment, a company founded in Japan. The series plays like a horror film and unlike other survival horrors, the Clock Tower series does not focus on shooting creatures or using violence, but rather using your surroundings to hide and escape while solving puzzles and following the twisting storyline. The main character is usually quite helpless compared to the villains, so the main emotional connection to the game is the fear of being captured or discovered.

Main series

There are currently four games in the series. The first two games are directly connected by use of common main characters and villains; the latter two titles do not share common characters.

Ownership

After Human Entertainment folded in 1999, the Clock Tower series was sold to Capcom. Clock Tower 3 was created by Sunsoft and published by Capcom. Not only was this part of the series created by a different company, it also offered 3D movement for the first time within the series.

Film

On June 21, 2006, a Clock Tower Movie was announced. It has since been believed that the movie will be called 'Jorge Olguín's CLOCK TOWER', Jorge Olguín being the director. The plot appears to concern Clock Tower 3 but has been said to have connections with Clock Tower 2 (The less successful of the series). A young woman (slightly different from Clock Tower 3) receives a phone call from her mother clearly telling her to avoid coming home. The girl returns to the family lodge to discover her family's shocking heritage. Despite production saying to begin fall of last year, there has still been no teaser trailers, revealed plot or confirmed actors.
