Summary
Template:Spoiler Koi ... Mil Gaya is the story about a mentally retarded young man called Rohit. Though he appears to be in his thirties, he has the mind of a twelve-year-old because of an accident his mother (Rekha) suffered from during pregnancy: Rohit's father (Rakesh Roshan), a scientist, attempted to contact aliens from outer space. When they actually answer his call and come to Earth, Sanjay (Rohit's father) gets killed and his wife injured (resulting in Rohit's mental condition as an adult).
Years later, Rohit repeats sixth class time and again and barely manages to get into seventh standard. One day, he meets in town the beautiful and kind-hearted Nisha (Preity Zinta) and after some mischief from Rohit's side and some misconceptions from Nisha's side, they become friends. She teaches Rohit how to use computer and they fool around with the old PC of Rohit's dad. A call to outer space summons the aliens again.
Rohit and Nisha save an alien from the woods and call it Jadoo. They hide it from the authorities and the police. The fact that Rohit and Nisha become close friends angers Nisha's wanna-be boyfriend Raj (Rajat Bedi) very much -- he harasses Rohit and decides to marry Nisha (who does not intend to wed Raj at all and refuses him right away). Rohit is devasted - during the conversation Rohit has with his mother about Nisha's presumed engagement Jadoo learns that it is his spaceship that is responsible for Rohit's condition, so he uses his powers on him.
The next day, Rohit not only discovers that he does not need his glasses anymore, but also suddenly his mental abilities evolved and he can actually keep up with his classmates. He enters a dance competition in order to impress Nisha and beats Raj at a basketball match. Later, at Nisha's house in front of her parents and Raj's, he declares his love for her. The police and the authorities are after Jadoo and manage to capture him. Rohit risks his life in order to save Jadoo and brings him back to his spaceship. The alien leaves Earth and takes Rohit's new abilities with him. Rohit is taken in custody, but after a trial they release him again on the grounds that he is mentally abnormal.
During a night walk with Nisha, Raj harasses Rohit again, thrusting a basketball at him, telling him that Jadoo has taken his powers away. Rohit gets angry and kicks the ball with all his might at Raj who is hit by it and falls unconscious. Apparantly, Jadoo has returned his powers to Rohit -- and as both, Rohit and Nisha look at the sky, they see Jadoo's spaceship coming back.
Currently, Rakesh Roshan is producing a sequel to "Koi ... Mil Gaya", called "Krrish".
