AMELY is short for Amelogenin Y gene.
AMELY is a gene which encodes a form of amelogenin found on the Y chromosome. Amelogenin is a member of a family of extracellular matrix proteins: Amelogenins. They are involved in biomineralization during tooth enamel development.
