My Misplaced Pages Philosophy

• Quality over quantity. There is too much crap on Misplaced Pages. This admirable project is accumulating crap at an ever increasing rate and, apart from vigilant folks who prowl the new articles section tagging bad articles for speedy deletion, there just isn't enough being done to curb the influx of utter tripe.

• I am a firm believer in Wiki Hell, and try to live by my conception of The Ten Misplaced Pages Commandments.

Pedantry

I'm a fairly easy-going person by nature, but there's a few things, admittedly quite petty and mostly to do with spelling and punctuation, that get my goat.

• I can't stand it when people say or write things like "an hotel" or "an horrific accident". H is a frickin' consonant, people! You wouldn't say "an hat" or "an house". Only exception is if the H is silent, like in "honour" or " 'orrible".

• It's perfectly OK to put a full stop at then end of Mr. For example, Mr. Smith. You want to leave it off, that's fine by me. But I choose to use it, and that's OK.

• Plurals do not have an apostrophe before the s. I'm willing to be lenient in the case of acronyms, for example "ICBM's", but there is no excuse for "tomato's". And while we're on the subject, it is not cool to use a z instead of an s. You might think it's edgy or eye catching, but it's just plain stupid. Stop it. Now.
