Professional Career
Contact Plus
His professional career started in 2002 from Contact Plus which is a BTL division of Interflow Communications. He worked with Strategy Department as Activation Manager which was then headed by Syed Abdul Karim Tanveer. His first assignment during his stay with Contact Plus was to lead and manage a loyalty club, Club Lipton, for Lipton, leading tea brand of Unilever Pakistan. The idea of this loyalty club was to interact and engage the youth (target market of Lipton) in an interactive and creative fashion thus building the long term loyalty with the brand. He also worked on different other brands of Unilever like "Walls" and "Supreme Tea".
TV One/News ONE
He joined TV One in 2005 as Director/Producer in Current Affairs department working under Sajjad Mir (former Editor of daily Nawaiwaqt). He directed and produced "Sajjad Mir kay Sath", "Taboo", "Front Page" and many others current affairs and infotainment programs including hosting a number of religious shows himself like "Sirat e Mustaqeem" and "Deen Dialogue".. Within two years of joining TV One/News ONE, Taher A. Khan asked him to head the current affairs and infotainment department as Sajjad Mir left News One for Waqt News, Lahore. He also conducted a number of current affairs and political talk shows like "Front Page" and "Election Beat" focusing Terrorism, Talibanization, Sectarianism and Security issues.
Controversies
He became widely known for his private discussion and debate with late Dr. Israr Ahmed on the causes of early schism among Muslims including the issue of Caliphate. The video of this discussion was leaked to different media hosting websites and became viral in a very short span. Israr Ahmed was failed miserably to answer specific and precise questions raised by Masood Raza and Khurram Zaki and to defend the traditional doctrine of Caliphate as conceptualised by Sunni school of thought, during the three hour discussion.
