Biography
At a young age, Zarifa joined the ranks of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine while being a university student in Algeria, before he returned to the Gaza Strip to serve as a leader in the group.
Zarifa was a member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine. He was elected during the eighth General National Congress in April 2024.
Zarifa was appointed as the leader of the Palestinian resistance against Israel in al-Sabra neighborhood, east of Gaza City, during the 2023–24 Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. There he was killed during an Israeli airstrike. Fellow communist fighter Mahmoud Hamami and another person were also killed in the attack.
