He was an extensive writer and is generally more accepted than his teacher who had many detractors.
Amongst his works are Ilam al-Muwaqqin in Islamic jurisprudence, Kitab ar-Ruh, a book dealing with the soul. A book which is widely read by both Sufis and their opponents alike and Madarij as-Salikin which is a commentary on a work by the Afghan Sufi Abdullah al-Ansari.
Some of his fatwas:
- "Ibn 'Aqeel, and many of our scholars, and our Shaykh (Ibn Taymiyya) have ruled that masturbation is makruh (disliked), and never explicitly said he that it was haram". (ref)
