POV

Please review our policy of neutral point of view. Your deletions of sourced criticisms from the War on Terrorism and George W. Bush articles appear to egregiously violate that policy. At a bare minimum, you should explain your edits and use edit summaries when making significant edits. --ElKevbo 03:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Notability of John Sidney McCain IV

A tag has been placed on John Sidney McCain IV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Misplaced Pages guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 19:57, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Unexplained deletion

I have added back the text that you deleted from the Ted Stevens article. This information was fully sourced; you absolutely need to provide a clear explanation of why you are removing it, or other editors may consider the removal to be vandalism. If you do such a deletion in the future, your explanation could be in the edit summary, although a major deletion of properly sourced information probably needs to be explained on the article's talk page as well. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 01:53, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Misplaced Pages is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Fidel Castro appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. siℓℓy rabbit (talk) 23:20, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Describing Castro as a dictator is not calling namess or saying he wasn't popular with some of the population, even a dictator needs a powerbase. A dictator is an absolute ruler who might have gained power through a military coup, but doesn't have to gain power that way. The leader of a one-party communist state is a dictator. That term is neutral and factual. Look it up in the dictionary.

Please familiarize yourself with some of the WP:RULES around here before entering an edit war. One of the rules that we operate by is consensus. You are free to present your sources at Talk:Fidel Castro, if you have sources supporting your contention that Castro is a dictator. As this definitely expresses a point of view, rather high-quality sources for this kind of thing are necessary. I have already started a thread at the talk page. You are welcome to join in the discussion. But please do not continue to edit-war over it. By doing so, you violate a number of policies and guidelines. The chief among these is our consensus policy and the bold-revert-discuss cycle. Also be aware of the three-revert rule, under which you can be blocked for continuing to edit in a disruptive fashion. siℓℓy rabbit (talk) 23:32, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 hours in accordance with Misplaced Pages's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. --VS 00:47, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did to Heath Ledger, you will be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:51, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

I did not enter incorrect information on Heath Ledger, he and his sister were named after characters in "Wuthering Heights" Heathcliff and Catherine.
I did not vandalize Napoleon I, either, Napoleon was Italian, because Corsica was originally part of Italian territory, and then became a French island. He was named Napoleone DiBuonaparte, which is Italian, and changed it to the French version, Napoleon Bonaparte, it is irrelevent to list the Coriscan form of his name, so I deletee the Corsican version. Why is it the editors are accusing me of vandalism for minor edits? I looked up what Heath Ledger's birthname was before I changed it on his Misplaced Pages, I did not change it just to vandalize.Alex2706 (talk) 21:21, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Youth International Party

I was going by what is said at anti-authoritarianism. It appears to be more of an 'anti-authority' movement rather than just 'anti-authoritarian.' I think the label is supposed to give the idea of being the opposite of, and not just 'anti' that thing. According to the description on article on it, it seems like an a good description. Zazaban (talk) 23:59, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

oh ok, but wouldn't anti-authority be more correct of a term? There is a such a thing as authoritarian such as Russia is looking more and more like it is turning into. Suppression of dissent, monopoly of television ads for Putin, not true full democracy, suppression of freedom of expression. It seems like if something was anti-authoritarian it would mean it opposed that not the US. Just food for thought, some ideas, suggesstions.Alex2706 (talk) 00:03, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
