A webbook is a portmanteau of web and notebook and a generic class of laptop computers such as the litl, Elonex and Coxion webbook computers.
It may also refer to The WebBook Company of Birmingham, Michigan, which announced plans to deliver a Net computer based on the ShBoom processor designed by Charles H. Moore.
It may also refer to a book available (only) on the web such as the Webbook of African Language Resources.
It may also refer to a book about creating web sites, such as The Non-designer's Web Book by Robin Williams.
Legal issues
U.S. Trademark 77,616,571 was filed by Robert & Colleen Kell of Austin, Texas on 18 November 2008. This move was criticised by Save the Netbooks on the grounds that it was unlikely for a marketing and advertising agency to have a legitimate intent to use and invest in the term.
