Wikiquette alerts are an option for a quick, streamlined way to get an outside view.

Procedure

At the bottom of the list, just post:

  • A single link to the problem or issue as you see it (for example, a single posting or section of a talk page).
  • Label the comment neutrally but do not sign and do not use names (type ~~~~~, which gives only a timestamp).
  • Please avoid embarking on a discussion of the points raised on this page. Carry on discussing it wherever you originally were — editors responding to posts here will come to you!

If you would like to get an outside view on your own behaviour, please post it here too.

Outsiders who visit the link are encouraged to make a constructive comment about any Wikiquette breaches they see. Postings should be removed after seven days.

  • Karmafist (talkcontribs) a member of Misplaced Pages:Esperanza, an association of Wikipedians dedicated to strengthening Misplaced Pages's sense of community (this is not an endorcment of this community, members, or their belifs by my self), with this self explanatory comment directed at me, which i find is no less then a violation of WP:NPA, WP:AFG, WP:CIVIL, as well as WP:DICK. Now not that i expect anything to happen to this usere, and more then likely i'll be the one thats repremended, but if their is going to be a fucking stink raised about my attitude and actions and so on and so forth here, the least i can expect is that usere at least treat me with the same respect that they do not think i am giving to them. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 00:56, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Is there a Misplaced Pages person with courage, willing to monitor and correct the ongoing criminal fraud by hired goons for President Bush's friend and contributor Patricia Cornwell? W. Guy Finley at first volunteered, but then wimped out, quite understandably because of Cornwell's public boasts that she can have people murdered, combined with court documents proving Cornwell has gotten away with felony crimes under US gov't protection. Finley asked some curious questions, then backed away with a silly suggestion to try and contact filmmaker Michael Moore for further assistance, declining to answer further e-mails.

The Cornwell hired goons are not only maintaining a totally fake and fraudulent pro-Cornwell biography on Misplaced Pages, but are also using the page for a fraudulent and deceptive attack on Cornwell's biographer Sachs. See the online "Patricia Cornwell Biography: Crime, Bribery, Scandal and Mental Illness", for the facts about Cornwell's life that Cornwell's thugs are hiding. Cornwell's scandals are well documented in print documents from the pre-internet era, though Cornwell's political contributions have insulated and protected her among the corporate media that now controls general discourse in the US. Alternative media are afraid to write about her criminal scandals, given Cornwell's past success in criminal attacks on others who dared to question her.

Misplaced Pages moderators have timidly and slightly corrected the fraudulent material in the past, but the Cornwell hired goons just wait a little and then put their bogus material back online.

The question here is whether Misplaced Pages is oriented toward wealthy criminals who can afford to hire staff maintaining fraudulent Misplaced Pages pages and attacks on others. Does a victim have no recourse other than in engaging in daily posting combat on Misplaced Pages? When wealthy criminals hire staff to make fraudulent attacks on Misplaced Pages, is the victim thereby sentenced to monitor Misplaced Pages every day for the rest of his life, just to protect himself?

Misplaced Pages seems to be a significant fraud and failure, oriented to benefit wealthy criminals. It's quite hard for a new victim, who is not oriented to playing the "Misplaced Pages game", to even figure out where to post complaints of abuse, as if the Lords of Misplaced Pages are trying to make it hard for victims. Victims find pages warning them not to post complaints here, or here, or warnings of other Misplaced Pages "rules", without clear directions where else to go. Misplaced Pages treats victims as if they have signed up for the Misplaced Pages game, when they perhaps just want to stop Misplaced Pages being used for criminal purposes against them.

Patent nonsense per the discussion on my talk page. I'm also concerned that my request for blocking for legal threats was ignored and the issue moved to Misplaced Pages:Copyright issues. Can an Admin weigh in on why this was handled in this manner? Garglebutt / (talk) 08:40, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Indeend, that user released had his image labelled {nosource} different times, saw his article deleted, released image under GFDL and now changes his mind... well, that's indeed impossible with GFDL and now he's indeed using legal threats --LimoWreck 10:15, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
  • User Siddiqui when can not get agreement from others goes on a vandalising spree. Check his edits in the last day or so. Also on his talk page almost everyone is complaining of his style of edit. 12:32, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
  • User:JJay refusing to engage in dialogue, preferring instead to launch veiled personal attacks (diff), and repeatedly tagging my comments with {{unsigned}} even after I have asked them to stop doing so (summary comment). 17:30, 28 February 2006 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.15.28.195 (talkcontribs)
    • i've checked this, JJay's adding of unsigned is OK. You should sign (even if it's an ip) instead of anonymous accusations, which make the discussions almost impossible to follow. --LimoWreck 18:32, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
      • Is my existing signature with 5~ some how not good enough for you? What happened to respecting the wishes of current and former users? 18:38, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Like the anonymous guy above, I’ve been struggling with user:Siddiqui too. It all started at the Jamaat-e-Islami page. The page was Protected by admin RoyBoy due to "Revert war between User:Siddiqui and User:Yahya01". Obviously the edit war was getting silly, but I'm a contributor to that page too. I had attempted a reasonable discussion. I tried Siddiqui again but I became involved in the most bizarre exchange. You can see it here. He made rash judgments about me that are totally incorrect & he is impossible to communicate with. I initially contacted RoyBoy about it but unfortunately he's ill, so he asked me to take it to village pump, which I have. So the page protection/content dispute issue will hopefully be dealt with there. I’ve come here because I’m being harassed by him. Later, I made a misguided attempt at creating the category "Wikipedians_censored_by_Islamist_editors" which was deleted here. Though it was foolish, I did have the best of intentions when creating that category. However, Siddiqui had been watching me & in a childish tit-for-tat response he created "Category:Wikipedians censored by Zionist editors" and "Category:Wikipedians censored by Hindutva editors". He has been anonymously vandalizing another page that I work on. If you look here it is explained. You can see that it is definitely him when you compare this & this. I’m being taunted but I don’t want to get involved in mindless squabbles. How do I deal with this? Veej 17:20, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Malta // Talk:Malta .. User:MYLO engaged in acts of flaming through refusal to abide by Misplaced Pages guidelines, in particular by a dogmatic approach deciding to edit not discuss. User was repeatedly asked to refrain from editing the parts under scrutiny, to no avail. The parts were also commented as "subject to consensus, until dispute is solved". 19:31, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

  • User:207.161.4.175 made vulgar personal attacks on Talk:Generation X/Archive01 and on the user page of the person he was attacking (the latter attack is now removed). These are his/her only contributions to Misplaced Pages under this anon IP, though he apperantely has used the other anon IPs that appear before his last comment on Talk:Generation X/Archive01. -- 20:32, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Misplaced Pages talk:German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board A discussion was created to discuss whether "county" or "district" should be the preferred translation for German "Landkreis". At some point, User:Staffelde joined the discussion and then decided to rephrase the previously stated facts in a way that had the effect of turning the discussion into a one against many and post it under a new discussion section. S/he then proceeded to not discuss the facts and arguments anymore but rather attack User:Mmounties personally making untrue insinuations and engaging in name calling, accusing her of pushing POV while at the same time not being willing to argue his case. As a result of his/her style of debate others who previously participated in the debate have all but exited the discussion. 20:51, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

My contribution to the Shotokan article is continually being deleted by a newer user User:Southwick, which is upsetting. My last edit was: "23:52, 4 March 2006 137.207.80.163" on the History page, and was removed once again in the next edit. See my reasons for including the removed material in the article Discussion Page at the bottom of Section #6 "Translation Clarification". My points begin with a - or a >. 22:54, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't see why being newer to Misplaced Pages means the newer user is wrong. As far as I know, all users of Misplaced Pages are subject to WP:CIVIL and WP:3RR, and I noticed that both of you have violated WP:3RR in the page history. I honestly have no idea what the origin of the word "Shoto" is, but I'd suggest that someone should look up the word in a printed reference (i.e. not just something passed down orally). Printed references have the advantage of being verifiable. --Elkman - 04:11, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
  • The point I was trying to make is that User:Southwick initiated the edit war, since he appeared on the Shotokan article after I had made my note, i.e., he initiated the deletion of my note, i.e., he is a newer user not only on Misplaced Pages, but on that article -- there are notes on Misplaced Pages asking users to please not just delete other users' notes -- it makes them feel that they have wasted their time (I refer to Misplaced Pages:Staying cool when the editing gets hot -- point 7. at the top). In a different matter, he has been lecturing me *extremely* arrogantly while keeping up his end of the edit war, saying "First debate is encouraged", as if he is some kind of high mucky-muck, laying down the rules, as well as using bad grammar while lecturing me about documentation -- this is why I am complaining about him being a newer user. It is almost inconceivable to me that a writing karateka can drop periods and commit comma splices, because Karate is *intensely* about the study of *details*. I have since stopped my end of the edit war, and as User:Southwick is not edit-warring over my POV marker, I can soon make my suggested change that should make him happy, objectively. See my suggestion at the bottom of 6. in Talk:Shotokan. Cap j 06:02, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
  • I just wanted to add that little clarifying note, the technical details of which are under dispute by no-one, and this anonymous guy named "Matt" who uses different IP addresses and User:Southwick persist in blocking me. I've posted a copy of my proposed little note on my talk page. 137.207.80.163 07:59, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
