Haakon I (b. ca 920 - d. 961), surnamed the Good, was the third king of Norway and son of Harald I.

Although he deposed his ruthless brother, Eric and subsequently his sons occupied parts of Norway and relentlessly invading territory under Haakon's control. Thus his reign was merely a history of battles, illustrated by almost 20 years of fighting against Eric (933-954) and his sons. The issue was settled as Haakon died heirless and Harald, third son of Eric, ascended the throne. However the people was severely tormented by years of war and welcomed the Danish invading force led by Harold Bluetooth.
