Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages.

I noticed that your user subpage at User:Interface Designer/hosting may not meet Misplaced Pages's user page guideline because it appears to be a promotional article hosted in userspace; see WP:UPNOT. If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. As an alternative, you may add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Misplaced Pages's userpage guidelines. Thank you. Yunshui  09:38, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Interface Designer/hosting

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on User:Interface Designer/hosting, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Misplaced Pages guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Yunshui  09:38, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Minor edits

Hi. Nearly all your edits seem to be marked as "minor". Please read Help:Minor edits - the "minor edit" flag should only be used for trivial rearrangement, typo correction, punctuation etc. which could not possibly be controversial. Anything that changes the content or meaning of an article, like this or this is not a minor edit and should not be marked as such. JohnCD (talk) 10:14, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Advertisements / Conflict of interest

I have deleted User:Interface Designer/freelance as well as User:Interface Designer/hosting for the same reason - Misplaced Pages does not allow advertisements anywhere, even in user space. These two pages, together with the number of references to "World Marketplace" you are inserting, lead me to remind you that Misplaced Pages is not to be used for advertising or promotion of any kind, and to draw your attention to the policy on WP:Conflict of interest - formal notice below.

Hello Interface Designer. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Misplaced Pages, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to you, your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Misplaced Pages article or website of your organization in other articles (see Misplaced Pages:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Misplaced Pages when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 10:14, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages administrators have told me that I can prepare drafts of article here. You have removed them. Then tell me where to prepare drafts articles for publication? Interface Designer (talk) 10:39, 26 October 2011 (UTC) Interface Designer

A user sub-page is indeed a good place to prepare draft articles, but those were not draft encyclopedia articles, they were blatant advertisements, written in the first person: "Check out our website... We are willing to work with you online... we help you to make it simple and pain free... " and full of "peacock terms": "the premier web server hosting company... A fantastic option... Lighting fast and friendly tech support... Best-in-class networking... "
Nothing like that could conceivably be acceptable as a Misplaced Pages article, it will be deleted at sight anywhere on the site. If you plan to write that sort of thing, I am afraid you are in the wrong place, and have completely misunderstood what Misplaced Pages is. It is not for advertising or promotion of any kind and is extremely resistant to attempts to use it that way. Persistent spammers' accounts are blocked.
I draw your attention again to the WP:Conflict of interest guideline. If you are here to promote your company or your clients, you are not welcome. JohnCD (talk) 11:56, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

--- The article about which you speak - as I wrote - was in draft form. I was just going to work on it. The article should have been about free applications and advertisments on the Internet. I'm not crazy to publish it in WIKI as a druft. It really consisted of advertising. But ... Do not judge people by yourself: If you have something to advertise and push on the wiki - it is your right. I do not do it. I have enough of everything. I was an editor and I understand that you should write and what not. Now I know that anyone can remove my drafton WIKI. Good luck to you. And do not judge people by yourself! Speedy deletion nomination of World Hosting Provider

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on World Hosting Provider, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Please do not add promotional material to Misplaced Pages. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Misplaced Pages is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. andy (talk) 10:50, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of World Marketplace

The article World Marketplace has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Spammy, no evidence of notability. Fails WP:GNG

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. andy (talk) 10:52, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with World Marketplace. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Vrenator 12:10, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Andy is simply trying to enforce our policies about insignificant entities and advertising. Unfortunately, the pages that you reference are one or the other, or both, as was the case with World Hosting Provider. He's simply asking administrators (like me, who can delete pages) to delete them: he's not deleting anything himself, and even if these pages all deserve to be kept, simply asking for their deletion as he's doing is not a good reason for blocking. I'm about to be gone for most of the day; if you have any more questions and don't want to wait until tomorrow to hear back, you can go somewhere like our help desk. Nomination of World Marketplace for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article World Marketplace is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/World Marketplace until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. andy (talk) 12:32, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

A friendly suggestion

Hi Interface Designer,

Recently you have been running afoul of Misplaced Pages's policies on advertising within articles. From your replies, it seems evident that you aren't entirely au fait with the way the encyclopedia works. That's fine - I was pretty confused when I started out as an editor, and so, I'm sure, were all the other people here.

As a philologist, you have a lot to offer the encyclopedia. Might I suggest, then, that you take a look at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Languages, a collaborative Wikiproject dedicated to improving the coverage of languages on Misplaced Pages. Rather than struggling to get company information onto Misplaced Pages - a task which is delicate and can be quite inflammatory - why not cut your teeth on some of the Language Project's tasks first? This will give you an opportunity to get involved in Wiki-editing without a slew of warning templates burying your talkpage every time you do anything.

Just a suggestion, take it or leave it. All the best, Yunshui  13:08, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Languages is a very interesting Category for me. I think there is a lot to do there. Thank you very much for your help.

Recently I'm in VIKI for just 22 days. And in this case mistakes are inevitable. I am against aggression. It is best to help each other and help to correct mistakes than to destroy and to wage war. A bad peace is better than a good war.(悪い平和は良い戦争よりはましだ)

I would like to ask you: what I need to do or what marks I need to to put in the draft articles so that they are not removed and are not tagged as spams. What am I doing wrong when I prepare articles in my folder? /Interface Designer

As I see my article was removed from this folder again 2 hours ago and market sa spam.

Interface Designer (talk) 14:06, 28 October 2011 (UTC) Interface Designer

You can label your pages as drafts with the USERDRAFT template; just enter {{Userspace draft|date=October 2011}} at the top of the page. However, this doesn't protect the page from being deleted - the general speedy deletion rules apply to all namespaces, including userspace. The two most common violations in userspace drafts are promoting a business (there's nothing wrong with creating an article about a business, but you have to be careful with the language, especially if you have a conflict of interest) and copyright violations.
I suggested working in a different area of Misplaced Pages such as WP:LANGUAGES for a while because that way you can work on the encyclopedia without running into any COI issues. There are a lot of rules and policies governing Misplaced Pages, as you're finding out, and working in an area where you aren't so close to the subject matter is a good way of learning about them. I'd strongly advise against creating any more content, draft or otherwise, that directly relates to your business. If it's notable, someone else will write the article sooner or later.
Feel free to contact me on my talkpage if you need help. Yunshui  20:20, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
