David Cánovas Martínez, better known as TheGrefg is a Spanish YouTuber. With almost 17 million subscribers, David has the seventh most subscribed channel in Spain.

In addition to being a YouTuber, he has also released three songs, written two books, starred in a TV show and broken a Guinness World Record.

Biography

David was born on April 24, 1997 in Alhama de Murcia, a small town in the region of Murcia in Spain.

He started his YouTube channel on June 30, 2012 and has been living in Andorra for several years.

Career

YouTube channel

TheGrefg created his YouTube channel on January 30, 2012, when he was 14 years old.. And he has uploaded more than 3,000 videos to his channel, most of which have been about video games. He started uploading Call of Duty videos and has played most of the titles of this saga. He has also excelled in other games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Geometry Dash, Minecraft or Fortnite.

Currently his channel has almost 17 million subscribers and is the seventh channel with more subscribers in Spain, behind others like Willyrex, Vegetta777 or El Rubius.

Streamer

David started playing Call of Duty video games live on his YouTube channel, but a little later he started playing them on specialized streaming platforms.

He started on Twitch and in a short time he became one of the top 10 Spaniards with the most followers. But a little later he switched to Mixer, the live platform that Microsoft ended up selling to Facebook.

After finishing his contract at Mixer, he went back to live streaming on Twitch and now has more than 7 million subscribers.

Books

Grefg has written two books. The first, in 2018, is titled Los secretos de YouTube and in this book David tells everything he has been through to get to where he is on YouTube. In the second, titled Team Heretics: Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre esports, Grefg along with Goorgo and MethodZ tell everything behind eSports and what they have experienced with their club Team Heretics.

Music

To date he has released three songs. The first one, titled Gracias a ti was to celebrate his 4 million subscribers. Again, to celebrate 10 million subscribers he released a song in collaboration with Zarcort and Piter-G. Lastly, to present his minecraft series Calvaland released a song titled as the same.

Television

Grefg was one of the presenters along with Willyrex and El Rubius of the Atresmedia program Top Gamers Academy.

Awards

In November 2019 TheGrefg was nominated for Game Awards Content Creator of the Year, colloquially known as The Oscars of video games. Ultimately, the award was won by Mike Grzesiek, better known as Shroud, and Grefg congratulated him with a tweet.

Guinness World Record

During the presentation of his Fortnite skin on his Twitch channel, TheGrefg broke a Guinness record for doing a live stream with over 2,468,668 simultaneous viewers.
