Common Dreams NewsCenter is based in Portland, Maine, and was founded in 1997. Common Dreams is a non-profit news service that provides breaking news to the liberal/progressive Community. Common Dreams is nationally based, and aims to bring liberal/progressiveAmericans together to promote what it calls progressive visions to the citizenry of the United States of America. Common Dreams is funded exclusively by individuals, claims to refuse corporate money, and has no advertising. Common Dreams makes a point of operating with a small staff, and volunteers.
Common Dreams NewsCenter posts many progressive editorials as well as news stories.
