Your GA nomination of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce

The article Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. Your GA nomination of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce

The article Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. May Pen

Hi! This is a long shot, but I wonder if you can help. 15 years ago you made this edit that stated that May Pen was established as a plantation settlement by the British between 1660 and 1683. Do you have any recollection of the source you used for that? On Talk:May Pen we're trying to determine whether it was a pen (Jamaican cattle farm) before it was named after Rev. William May who was there in the 1700s.  —SMALLJIM  13:30, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi, User:Smalljim! I can't remember the source that I used (also can't believe it's been 15 years! lol). But I did a quick Google search and was able to find this article (pg 6). Not sure of the origin of the name "May Pen" per se, but the article mentions the establishment of a plantation settlement by the British in the 1600s. Hope this helps. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find anything else. Cheers! Journalist . talk 23:10, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, that's great! There's one niggle - since that document was published in 2012 and it uses the exact same words that were in our article at the time (and the words around it are similar too) one has to consider whether the UN copied the text from Misplaced Pages. Would they do that, I wonder? It's surprising where our words can turn up! I tried the internet archive wayback machine to see if they'd stored an earlier version of the document, but no luck. Best,  —SMALLJIM  23:56, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
Yes, it's possible that they may have gotten it from Misplaced Pages. Never thought of that! I'm sure I found it somewhere, so I'll keep looking and let you know if/when I find anything. Journalist . talk 04:03, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
