I now see that people have flooded the edit request for changes and the tempers are quite high; given that, I think this addition -- on a new line in the section regarding his career after serving as Governor General -- is fair and unbiased: Amid fierce criticism by opposition parties regarding Johnston's appointment as special rapporteur, citing Johnston's relationship with the Trudeau family and the Trudeau Foundation as constituting a conflict of interest, Johnston submitted a letter of resignation on June 9, 2023. Tempers get high when blatant censorship is occurring. I smell the Telford from here. 70.24.87.26 (talk) 15:16, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

– Very common name (20+ entries at the disambiguation page) and I don't think the GG is the primary topic. On pageviews, David A. Johnston is a clear number one, averaging more than double the views of the governor-general; given both are not "in the news" I think this trend is likely to persist. In addition, two others David Johnston (the British politician and the Australian admiral) have surpassed the governor-general on certain days within the past few months.

In terms of historical significance, I don't see a strong argument for the GG's primacy either – while the office he held is significant, I'm not sure it's more significant than any of those held by the other David Johnstons, as evidenced by the lack of standalone biographies / academic works as per the source list in his article.
