• The sources used (VoA & BBC) don't even mention any involvement of Israeli forces except a spokesperson saying: "The Israeli military said Ms Sido was eventually freed during a "complex operation coordinated between Israel, the United States, and other international actors" and taken to Iraq via Israel and Jordan". … Iraqi foreign ministry official Silwan Sinjaree told Reuters that several earlier attempts to rescue her over the course of about four months failed because of the security situation in Gaza.

So according to the sources, Israel was certainly involved and probably partly enabled her escape, but also the security situation in Gaza had actually delayed her rescue.

That this is a remarkably heartbreaking story is not disutable, that she was rescued as a result of Israeli army actions seems pure spin based on these sources.Pincrete (talk) 14:02, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

Is it just me or does this page feel like it doesn't quite follow the Wiki style guide. Feels like it's trying to make a point rather than just being informative in some parts. Elilupe (talk) 00:50, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

I completely agree, I was expecting a paragraph or two explaining what happened to her. Not a 2000 word play-by-play of all the atrocious history of ISIS against the Yazidi women. Some basic context makes sense, but the entire "Background" opener and about 75% of this article seem wholly unneeded. I was about to make an argument for deletion as a single event is not-notable, she should rather be included on another page an example of the ISIS atrocities, rather than an entire page dedicated to her. 136.32.152.38 (talk) 02:01, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

The Background section is incredibly detailed and presents a really neutral POV as to the overrall context of the conflict. In my opinion is even better than the related main topic pages which are heavily edited by consensus towards western sources, and do not for example portray with the right balance arguments like Netanyahu claims of "Hamas being ISIS" while actually immediately pointing to the contradiction being the Hamas–ISIS conflict.

In fact it shows the nature of unfairness and pure luck being a key factor of her and many such others condition, and gives context to the overrall victim being not only a victim of violence toward her but also a victim of this chaos of a war, and now becoming againt another victim as a propagandistic means.

Also her story has been extensively documented by sources so no reason to delete for non-notability. Anne Frank was also a single subject of an overrall bigger event, but given it sheds light into the context of the Holocaust it's important to have that key element of the overrall story. --31.191.84.239 (talk) 10:01, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

Hamas apologists

Seriously, half this page is dedicated not to Fawzia Amin Sido but to a fond attempt to exonerate Hamas. I think a link to a separate page examining the question of Hamas's resemblance to ISIS or lack thereof would be sufficient. Right now it reads less like an informative page about Fawzia and more like a long Hamas-apologizing rant 2A0D:6FC7:50F:AC00:AC51:E8B8:D0F4:3E (talk) 03:09, 19 October 2024 (UTC)

Needs cleanup; “Background” needs to go…

As an elder Wikipedian, I must say this article has good and verifiable information. But it is also scatterbrained. For example, the entire “Background” needs to go. It is all tangential information at best. Also the “Living in the Gaza Strip” needs some serious consolidation; it should be cleaner and more concise like “Early life and captivity” and “Travel to the Gaza Strip.”

I would do this myself, but I feel I would be stepping into a proverbial hornet’s nest. Thus my posting this here to say there is a good article here, but it is definitely mired in a scatterbrained mess of everyone trying to make their point. Hamas and ISIS are terrible, but the very basic facts about this poor woman’s ordeal should speak to that. It doesn’t need to be hammered in repeatedly. @Giacomo1968 Some of the background definitely wasn't needed, e.g. the very detailed ideology section was just copy paste from the ISIS page and wasn't relevant. But I think this page needs at least a couple of lines describing the Yazidi genocide, at the end of the background or the beginning of the "Early life and captivity" section.
