Samuel Joseph Stokes (September 8, 1889 - October 28, 1933) was an American ragtime composer who was born and lived his entire life in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is known for composing four ragtime pieces for solo piano that were published by the L. Grunewald Co. between 1908 and 1910. The pieces are Dynamite Rag (1908), The North Pole (1909), Salome Rag (1909), and Thunderbolt Rag (1910).
Stokes married Harriet Williams in New Orleans on August 3, 1914.
