During the Great October Socialist Revolution and the Russian Civil War over 30 000 Yugoslavs participated on the side of the Bolsheviks. Multiple groups would be formed by Yugoslav Bolsheviks such as the Yugoslav Communist Group.

Yugoslav participants in the Bolshevik Revolution

Yugoslav involment in the October Revolution started as early as of the storming of the Winter Palace. These same Yugoslavs would end up participating in the Russian Civil War and would end up with verious political and millitary positions within the Soviet Government. The most notable Yugoslav Bolshevik would have to be Vukašin Marković who worked as a lector and agitator in the All-Russian Central Executive Committee. ] Yugoslavs would also end up serving on the other side of the war, as commanders and soldiers of the Allied forces in Russia. In this sector they would prove themseleves to be quite valuable to the Entente as they became the best infantry fighters among the Interventionist forces.
