Kaleta is a summa cum laude graduate of DePaul University and Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
Kaleta served as the Assistant General Counsel for Law and later as the Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Kaleta was appointed the acting U.S. Secretary of Transportation by President Donald Trump on January 20, 2025.
