Hamid Antonio Castro is an American filmmaker, actor, and entrepreneur, best known for writing, directing, and starring in the 2025 crime thriller film Lake George.

Born in Queens, New York, to immigrant parents, Castro exhibited entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. At ten, he started a DJ business, performing at local events. His athletic background later helped him build a fitness business catering to elite and celebrity clients.

Career

Despite offers from buyers and streaming platforms, Castro chose to maintain creative control by independently financing the $2 million film. He served as writer, director, producer, and lead actor. The film was completed in December 2023 and is scheduled for theatrical release on January 31, 2025.

MMA Background

Castro is a mixed martial artist with a foundation in wrestling and grappling. As a former wrestler for New York University (NYU), Castro competed at the collegiate level. His background in wrestling facilitated his transition into mixed martial arts (MMA).
