Remete

Remete is a neighbourhood in the northeast of Zagreb, Croatia, within the Maksimir district. The area of the local city council of Remete has a population of 5,923 (census 2021).

The old village of Remete was known since the Middle Ages, especially for its Church of the Mother of God that attracted pilgrims even more than the one in Marija Bistrica, today known as the Shrine of Saint Mary of Remete. It was integrated into the city of Zagreb in 1949.
