Graphics Lab/Photography workshop Shortcuts

The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps.
This specific page is the requests page for the photography workshop. Anyone can make a request for a photograph to be improved for a Misplaced Pages article. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

All requests: Please make sure your request is "legitimate" by copyright. If the image(s) are in the public domain or freely licensed, you are fine. If the image(s) are "Fair use", there are only certain things we can do with them without falling afoul of Misplaced Pages's fair-use policies. If you are requesting assistance with a copyright or fair-use image, don't display it on this page; place `{{GLNF\|Example.png\|caption\|align=left}}` to create a link to it. Do not add the File: extension. Our fair-use policy does not allow displaying fair-use images out of their articles on ANY account. Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed. If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with `{{resolved}}`. SVG requests: Make sure your request can actually BE vectorized. Note that vector drawings are not suitable for certain applications. We generally use SVG format for icons, logos, drawings, maps, flags, and such. Certain things, photographs especially, are totally impossible to vectorize. Per our non-free content policy, vectorization of copyrighted images is not permitted. If a vectorized non-free image is desired, seek out such an image from the copyright holder.

Request: Hi, I was wondering if someone can kindly please upload cropped versions of this photo of Jörn Lenz and some other soccer players so they can all go on their respective pages? The main people needing photos are Jörn Lenz, Thorsten Boer and Mario Tolkmitt. While Lenz has a page on five different Misplaced Pages versions, Boer has a page on four different Misplaced Pages versions and Tolkmitt has a page on two different Misplaced Pages versions there are two other soccer players Peter Rohde and Thomas Grabow that both need cropped photos but only have have pages on the German and Hungarian versions. While Bley has a page on six different Misplaced Pages versions, there are four other soccer players Andreas Rath, Peter Englisch, Bernd Nemetschek and Lars Petzold that all need cropped photos but only have have pages on the German version. I would like to remind anonymous IP 109.77.121.223 that cases like this usually reveal the flip side of the coin. Most of the time the involved graphists are working very quickly. They do a great job without having to be reminded by impatient users who can sit back and relax. When the job takes longer (or is not done at all) there are usually one or two problems involved. One: the job is technically complicated. Two: the original image is in low resolution. My (not so very wild) guess: this original (86 kb) can only result in extracted images of 5 kb or so - not very charming. If one would like to have that result, one can easily use the Crop Tool (left column, when logged in). Child's play, even I can do it. Don't press your luck.
