At Jamie Lee Curtis § External links, there's a link to Jamieleecurtisbooks.com. Currently, that's a redirect to https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/childrens and I suggest modifying it (Jamieleecurtisbooks.com) to https://www.harpercollins.com/blogs/authors/jamie-lee-curtis-880000013293 which is HarperCollins Publishers' page about Curtis' books. Also, probably better to drop the {{Official website}} template there. --Talky Muser (talk) 18:40, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

Difference of sex development

There are multiple online sources stating that Jamie Lee Curtis has XY chromosomes and a DSD, likely CAIS. Can this be added to the article or is there a sourcing problem for this? Not sure how much these sources can be trusted. Thanks. 2A00:23EE:14C0:4ED1:6933:36E1:BBF8:98FF (talk) 19:09, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Not without a very reliable source. See Misplaced Pages:Reliable Sources and Misplaced Pages:Biographies of Living Persons for more guidance. Misplaced Pages is extremely sensitive to possible mistakes in biographies of living people. We’re also pickier than most sites about what we consider a reliable source. —A. Freaky Friday reference

I suggest that it should be noted that the Disney movie Freaky Friday (2003 film), in which Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan starred in, was a remake of Freaky Friday (1976 film), starring Barbara Harris (actress) and Jodie Foster. tCg (talk) 20:52, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

Name

Rachel Meghan Markle, a US citizen living in the United States, is referred to in the Misplaced Pages as "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex". Using the same logic, I suppose Jamie Lee Curtis should be called "Jamie Lee, Baroness Haden-Guest". Please reverse this change. 177.170.111.136 (talk) 18:31, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. (CC) Tbhotch 19:16, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
She is married to Christopher, Baron Haden-Guest, which makes her Jaime Lee, Baroness Haden-Guest. Just as Rachel Meghan Markle is married to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, which makes her Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Misplaced Pages needs to be consistent in its naming conventions across different articles. The two aforementioned articles are clearly inconsistent with no explained rationale. 177.170.111.136 (talk) 19:30, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
@117.170.111.136: Au contraire, the explained rationale is stated (with sources) in the personal life section of the article: Curtis does not use this title, saying, "it has nothing to do with me". -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 19:33, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
It doesn't matter whether she uses the title or not. Titles are part of your legal name in the United Kingdom. Now you may propose a different argument that her legal name in the United Kingdom is not the same as her legal name in the United States, where she lives. However, if that is the case for Jaime Lee Curtis, it is also the case for Rachel Meghan Markle and her article should use her legal US name, unless you have evidence that she changed her legal name in California to "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex". Again I am just calling for consistency. Misplaced Pages's policy has always been to name articles after the person's legal name regardless of the person's own naming preferences. Anyway, Jaime Lee Curtis was named "Jaime Lee, Baroness Haden-Guest" in an earlier version of this article. The name was changed without sufficient consensus and it should at least be subject to discussion and possible revision. 177.170.111.136 (talk) 21:13, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
False. Misplaced Pages policy says to use the WP:CommonName of a person, not their legal name. Please read up on the policy. The Duchess of Sussex is a member of the British royal family. Curtis is not. She is merely married to a member of the British peerage. The comparison is not relevant to this discussion. No source suggests that Curtis is a British citizen, so her "legal name in the United Kingdom" doesn't apply here anyway. Furthermore, her title is already mentioned in the article, just not used in the lead. I personally do not mind if the title "Lady Haden-Guest", and a mention of her reluctance to use it, are added to the lead. But that would need to be further discussed here among more editors to reach consensus. I am against renaming the article because her WP:CommonName is Jamie Lee Curtis. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 22:01, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Actor not actress

The correct contemporary term is actor, actress being retired. 203.30.15.3 (talk) 22:06, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

We only use "actor" if the person self-identifies as such, like Whoopi Goldberg. (CC) Tbhotch 20:08, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
