Perception TVCDN is a British telecommunication and technology company established in 2018. A London-based subsidiary of Perception Group, it provides a unified CDN+IPTV+OTT online platform for live TV streaming, live rewind catch-up TV, FAST TV channel playout automation, network PVR, and VOD delivery services.
Overview
Matt Vidmar and John Mills founded Perception TVCDN in 2018 in London, England. In the following year, the company became a sales subsidiary of the Perception Group, which also includes its sister subsidiary, Fora. Fora provides Perception TVCN with support and a development office in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The company's main product is the Perception TVCDN platform, which is available as software and a cloud service. It is a unified online video platform with live and VOD transcoding support, live TV streaming, live rewind catch-up TV, network PVR, video-on-demand, FAST TV channel playout automation, and TV-commerce features as standard CDN core functionality. The delivery platform is used by Telco operators, ISPs, OTT studios, and TV networks.
The roots of the Perception TVCDN platform can be traced back to the early 2000s when Matt Vidmar launched the first commercial OTT IPTV service in Mumbai. As of 2024, Perception TVCND video platform is used by several international telecommunication and media operators, which include TV2go service launched for T-2 telecom in Slovenia in 2006, TV Cabo service launched for Visabeira telecom in Angola and Mozambique in 2014, Elshasha global service launched for Rotana Media in 2023, 7adir service launched for Al Roya Media in Sudan in 2023, and AfriTV service launched for Africell telecom in Angola in 2023.
In 2024, it was reported that the TMTG (Trump Media & Technology Group) licensed the Perception TVCDN platform and contracted Perception Group to design and construct CDN infrastructure to power the Truth Social private media cloud.
