Dublin County South (Dáil constituency)

South County Dublin was a parliamentary constituency in the Republic of Ireland which from 1977–1981 returned 3 Teachtaí Dála (TDs) to Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. Elections were held using the Single Transferable Vote method of proportional representation (PR–STV).

History

The constituency was created by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1974, and abolished by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1980. It was therefore used only for the 1977 general election to the 21st Dáil.
