The People's Republic of Bulgaria (Template:Lang-bg, Narodna republika Balgariya) was the official name of the Bulgarian state that existed from 1946 to 1990. During this period, Bulgaria was ruled by a Communist regime under the administration of the Bulgarian Communist Party. The communist nation was an Eastern Bloc satellite state of the Soviet Union during the Cold War, thus joining the Warsaw Pact and the Comecon.
