He won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Performance. He is known for such songs as "No Such Thing" and "Your Body Is a Wonderland".
John Mayer grew up in the state of Connecticut listening to pop albums until the age of thirteen when a neighbor gave him a Stevie Vaughan tape, and soon after, Mayer picked up a guitar and started playing gigs at blues bars and other such venues after only two years.
After being involved with the guitar for several years, Mayer finally enrolled in the Berklee school of music in Massachusetts at the age of 19, but realized he was more interested in writing and playing music than studying it. However, he graduated and soon after was picked up by the industry and has become a well respected and pop recording artist.
Mayer has toured with many groups including the Counting Crows and the Wallflowers.
