Re: Bonfire pic

Hi Jtkiefer! Glad you like my photo - it's that appreciation that makes uploading worth it! See you around wiki! --Fir0002 09:42, August 7, 2005 (UTC)

Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki vandalism

Hi,

I don't think you quite understand; check the diffs. My edit was a reversion of previous vandalism that left some further down the page (which I had not yet seen) intact. I was about to fix the further vandalism further down the page as well but you (I take it) successfully reverted it before I did.

Thanks for the revert on the unfixed vandalism. 68.40.114.206 23:19, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Subst

Jtkeifer, keep up the good work fighting off the vandals. Also, don't forget to substitute templates such as test when you use them on user talk pages - it reduces server load. -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 23:34, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my user page so quickly. I appreciate it! --Canderson7 01:29, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Nintendo NSider Forums

Thanks. Yes, there were several different anons, probably all the same person. I blocked the most persistant for one hour, but I can't do any more reverts. Maybe the page should be temporarily protected. What do you think? Zoe 07:58, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Do you know anything about Bulborb? The same vandal made an edit there, but I have no idea if it's valid, or even what it means. Zoe 08:05, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

That sounds like a good idea. I'll do that. Zoe 08:21, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

User:LyndonJohnson

Thanks for filling in the {{Indefblockeduser}} for me. I wasn't aware that it existed until now.... Happy editing! Sasquatch 18:36, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Japan general election, 2005

The lower house has in fact been dissolved (at 7:07 JDT). Please be certain about something before correcting standing facts on a page. Aconnelly 05:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

Dear Jtkiefer,

Now I add news,But My Ip is left.I don't want left in here.How can I do? unsigned edit by user:219.122.37.209 -- Jtkiefer ----- 19:44, August 9, 2005 (UTC)

indef blocking

Just wanted to let you know if you didn't already know about it that you can use Template:Indefblockeduser on the person's user and/or user talk page as just a large notice that the user has been blocked by an administrator and/or
Your account has been blocked from editing Misplaced Pages because your username, Jtkiefer, does not comply with Misplaced Pages's username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Misplaced Pages's username policy, which is summarized here. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Important items to note:

  • The new username that you choose must comply with Misplaced Pages's username policy.
  • The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for ", that means it is available.

Appeals: If your username is not in violation of Misplaced Pages's username policy, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Thank you. for users who have been blocked for violation of the username policies, keep up the good work dealing with these innapropriate names. Jtkiefer ----- 05:22, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
  • I rarely do this, but this person used a Nazi-related name and seriously screwed up our Romania article; I'm still sorting out the mess. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:24, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

Func's RfA :)

Jtkiefer, thank you for supporting my adminship! Cool sig, btw, how's mine? :)

Please never hesitate to let me know if you have concerns with any administrative action I may make.

Functce,  ) 22:39, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

Your signature

Your signature appears to be missing a closing <small> tag. In some circumstances, this causes the comment posted after yours to be displayed in a small font. Could you please fix it? Thanks, Carnildo 05:59, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

The designs might be similar, but my signature is still a lot cleaner than yours! :) Oh, and are you interested in (see next section)? Alphax  09:33, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

WikiProject user scripts

Would you like to join the Monobook scripting team? Note: this thread is now closed. We are going to start it off at User:ABCD/WikiProject User scripts. Alphax  23:44, 11 August 2005 (UTC) (first post was 01:32, 10 August 2005 (UTC))

Just wanted to let you know I've changed my vote to keep. And sure, I'd be up for joining the Monobook scripting team. -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 01:36, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Yay, now to start it :) I think I've already got func and Essjay in on it... Alphax  04:13, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps a WikiProject? -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 04:41, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
You know, that's not a half bad idea! It's almost impossible to figure out how to make those changes if you aren't familiar with the system. I'd be happy to be part of Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Monobook. -- Essjay · Talk 04:53, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
Sasquatch was able to help me get my monobook.js to work; he says func is the man for java work. Perhaps we shoudl get Sasquatch on board? -- Essjay · Talk 07:54, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
Sure :) Alphax  10:34, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Wikiproject:Monobook sounds good to me. Someone initiate it so we can get this party started. Sasquatch 19:46, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
Ok, a few more people invited (put {{User talk:Alphax/20050810-01}} on someone's talk page to do so) - see what links here for who they are. Alphax  10:47, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

Errh... what is this all about? Lupo 10:53, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

This is a thread. If you want to stay synchronised, don't substitute it. Some of us are considering forming a wikiproject (or something) to coordinate on scripts for the Monobook skin. Ironically, almost of all of it will be implemented in JS, not CSS. I thought you might be a knowledgable person when it comes to this stuff. Alphax  13:58, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
Guys, just posting a link to here on people's talk pages is good enough to attract interested parties. Transcluding this screws up section editing on all affected talk pages. And I don't think I'll get the new message alert anyway if this is transcluded. Lupo 14:07, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
Help us decide a name then! Alphax  15:07, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
As to coordinating scripts for the Monobook skin: what's the objective? A library of plug-in JavaScript snippets? A manual for the CSS used? Lupo 14:07, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
Yes, a library of plugins. Alphax  15:07, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
I can try to help with css more than js btw as I'm much better than that (but still not that good). If anyone needs a person to double check stuff I also have a bit o' time on me hands =) This project looks cool though. Sasquatch 19:42, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

What is the link to the monobook project? - Ta bu shi da yu 00:12, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

There isn't one yet, we need a name and to decide where it should be located (on WP:, meta:, commons:)... Alphax  04:04, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
I think it should be in the Misplaced Pages namespace. Good idea, btw. - Ta bu shi da yu 04:18, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Though I know very little about JS and how it works and most of the stuff on my monobook.js is just copied and pasted I'd be willing to join since I've been meaning to learn javascript and it would be a good way to put real use to it. I also think it should be on the WP: namespace btw. Jtkiefer ----- 15:53, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

My suggestion for a name could be Misplaced Pages:WikiProject User scripts. – ABCD 21:11, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

I am currently creating a demo at User:ABCD/WikiProject User scripts. – ABCD 22:25, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Ok, I'm closing this thread. Take it there, folks! Alphax  23:44, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

My talk page was vandalised?

Thanks for fixing it back. That was a first for me. — CuaHL 14:14, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
