She originally found fame as a member of The Nolans, a group consisting over the years of various of the Nolan sisters. She left the group in 1994, to concentrate on her own career, and in 2000 she joined the cast of Channel 4s Soap Opera Brookside, leaving in 2002 to join ITVs The Bill.
