I hope you enjoy your stay here and feel free to reply to this welcome message on my talk page. - Craigy (Talk)

(To sign a post like I just did, enter three tildes ~~~ where you want your name to appear. The three tildes will automatically be converted into your username. Adding a fourth tilde will insert a timestamp, as well.)

Thanks for the thanks...

You're welcome, I find the typo-correction somewhat therapeutic. :) Alai 05:10, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

GTA3 Soundtrack

Hi Mysekurity, it's Dragonfly888 here. I was in a better mood today so I redid the soundtrack page. In my opinion it's even better than the version I lost last night. I hope you like it, for all the trouble it's caused me! Of course, post any changes you'd like to see or any criticism on the article's talk page. I'm currently going to add links to all the scripts for the stations, and it will be my ongoing quest for a while to sort out all the red links in the article. Rock on.

Thanks for the great compliment! By the way, I took your advice and saved a copy in Notepad. The thing actually did crash again but 'cause I had my trusty copy there was no need to fret! I expect to add random things to the article as they come to me, as there is admittedly still a fair bit of work to be done. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it though! Again, rock on. Buckingham Browne & Nichols

While I'm not in favor of the less then notable schools having articles, I think schools that have a history should be included. In this case, the two old schools were around for a long time and probably have some good history that could be written about with a little research. From past editing, I have found that trying to include histories for multiple aricles in one place results in a confusing article. While some don't like the red links, I don't see a problem when they are for articles that need to be added. If I'm wrong, just be bold and edit the article to your tastes. Grand Theft Auto 3 soundtrack

Thanks for the note on the error in my info. I had that typed in a rush, so a few typos slipped in here and there. However, I can't recall any work I did on the Grand Theft Auto 3 Soundtrack article, and looking at the page history, I can't find my name or my IP anywhere. Maybe you got to my user page from a talk entry I left in another user page? Coolgamer June 28, 2005 19:12 (UTC)

Hmm, interesting point. I feel like a total idiot, because honestly, I have no idea why the fudgemuffin in the world I wrote that...Maybe I liked your edits on another article, and was looking at the GTA 3 soundtrack, but honestly, I have no idea. Good job on your other edits, however, mysekurity June 28, 2005 8:54 PM (EST)

slight fan, but nothing to speak of. really just coincidence. Was an old nickname of sorts; thought it was time to resurrect it. Cheers. SpikeJones 7 July 2005 04:18 (UTC)

Garry's Mod

Uhm yea.....I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with your descision about the peacock term in Garry's Mod. While I agree stating "this is the best" or "was important" is a peacock term, I do not, however, believe "one of the most well known" is. Plus, the way you left the article, the first sentence seems awkward and short. Perhaps if there were some statistics on how many times its been downloaded, or usership this could be rectified, but....well, maybe you're correct, I just don't know. Sorry for wasting your time, mysekurity 9 July 2005 02:25 (UTC)

That's fine, I was actually thinking that this might be valid use of a "peacock term" as I was clicking "Save page." Go ahead change back as you mention. --Major.T 9 July 2005 02:28 (UTC)

Jonadabs

Hi, you voted for keep on that VfD and I was just questioning why. I agree that it seemed notable but there were no sources and upon an online search I found nothing and the original author of the page continuously added links that did not even contain the word Jonadabs as sources. I would ask that you abstain (I'm sorry if this is presumptuous) if you don't know sources and are just voting because the concept seems notable. I agreed and that's why I did nothing since my first edits but this article needs sources. Can you comment back? Thanks. gren 05:10, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

That's understandable. The user who created the article slightly irked me first by citing the sources as "The Bible" and "reasoning" or something like that. When I asked for referenced I got the sites now listed the first one mentions "Jonadabs" twice:
The other sheep – called Jonadabs, are the great multitude who associate with the anointed, rendering them aid and if faithful they will live through Armageddon which is very near.
For 1900 years now the Royal family of 144,000 is now about completed. The Jonadabs are those who are in sympathy with Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Wise Servant Class.
That was the only one that seemed to mention the word... This all seems very tenuous to me and those are not sources that signify a significant movement (and my tolerance for insignificance is rather great) nor does it signify there being any available facts on "Jonadabs" as a movement, rather than just a one word concept. as the books on google print seem to show. gren 05:29, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Votes for deletion/Who's next (song)

I'd like to invite you to come back to Misplaced Pages:Votes for deletion/Who's next (song), and reconsider your vote. I'm advocating a vote of Redirect per Harmil, and you can see the recommendation that I'm making on the vote page (it's big and detailed). Yeah, I know this guy is a troll, but the fact that he's a troll doesn't mean we shouldn't have this information point to the right place. I hope that makes sense, and happy editing! -Harmil 23:35, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Votes for deletion/Historical Jesus

You voted on the above. Your comments suggest that you may not have compared the article Historical Jesus to the article New Testament view on Jesus' life. The Historical Jesus article explicitely states in it's opening paragraph that it "presents a critical reconstruction of the Historical Jesus, as based on the four canonical gospels", and therefore I would suggest that it constitutes a POV fork of New Testament view on Jesus' life. Could you possibly review your vote? ~~~~ 17:37, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Trust

Have a whole cake!

Glad to hear I'm earning your trust! -- Essjay · Talk 06:41, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

How do I pick them? For the most part, I just see them around. Redwolf24 was my first nom, and he & ran into each other doing RC patrol. (He was getting some very heavy vandalism.) I found Longhair through my welcoming efforts; I kept going to pages to welcome users, only to find out Longhair had beat me to it by a few seconds. As for my userpage, some of the elements have been stolen from other's pages, but the vast majority has come from trial and error. I didn't know anything about html before I started editing here, but I've learned a lot in the last few months. I'm trying to get as much in now as I can, since my students will be stealing me away at the beginning of Sept. Anyhow, if I can be of any help, let me know, and if you see something on my page you like, feel free to steal it! -- Essjay · Talk 08:39, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hi, Mysekurity. Thank you for supporting my RfA! I am honored to have your endoresment and hope to make good use of the mop. Sango123 01:36, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

Thank you!

Happy birthday! And thanks for your kind words. They mean a lot to me, especially because I've had a depressing day. With the drudgery of VfD closings, puctuated by chasing around a vandal who was uploading an image of "ass puss" to pages, then having a run-in with sockpuppets on vfd, then being personally attacked in another dispute I was simply trying to mediate, your comments made me smile. Anyway, thanks! And back to VfD for a little bit longer (which is, now that I think about it, a kind of ironic place to meet someone, I mean, Votes for deletion...) --Dmcdevit·t 07:03, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

Actually, I am in Phoenix (read a little further), but no matter, same time zone (and I'd rather be in San Fran!). After a few frustrating edit conflicts, I'm taking your advice. I'll just go relax in bed, read some more Iliad and go to sleep. PS, your Babel is awesome! Good night. --Dmcdevit·t 07:32, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

Slyder

Don't worry about it! Redirects occasionally turn up on VfD and they do no harm there, since RfD is an outer-Siberia by comparison. I had cited WP:NOT a bureaucracy in my own defence for choosing not to relist the page there, rather than as a criticism of you. I see what you mean by your question — I suppose the developers would have access to that, and I do wonder if sometimes it would be useful for us mere mortals too.-Splash 14:15, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Many thanks

Thank you for your vote of support on my recent RfA. I was quite surprised by the amount of support I received, and wish to extend my thanks to you for taking the time to support my nomination for adminship. -- Longhair | Talk 11:58, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

You're more than welcome!

Bon anniversaire!

Hi Mysekurity. Thank you very much for that comment, it's nice to know just a simple message can make someone feel at home. I see you've being doing some great work, especially with gaming articles (good work on the GTA articles, even us prudish Brits need an outlet ;-) ). Sorry, I missed your birthday and although I can't complete with a three-tier wedding cake, have a cake-that-really-shouldn't-have-orangey-bits in it instead. Happy editing! :-D Craigy File:Uk flag large.png (talk) 09:04, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

Usr sgn templates

Hello - I couldn't find any explanations for the changes you made to the sign language user templates so I reverted them for now. I don't think it's very useful to say someone knows "sign language"; it's like saying someone speaks "spoken language". Do you know that there are hundreds of sign languages in use around the world? Anyway please share your reasoning on the Category talk:User sgn page if you want to make major changes to the templates.

I thought that you may not have understood the syntax for using these templates as they contain a parameter, making them a little different from the other language templates. This is explained on the Babel page, and the syntax (it's quite simple) is explained on the Category:User sgn page and all the sub-category usr-sgn pages. All you have to do is add the name of the sign language you know after a pipe: {{Usr sgn-1|American Sign Language}}. I made the change to your user page, assuming (as you live in the US) that you are referring to ASL. If you removed the parameter for a reason (there is an argument for doing so), again, please discuss it on the Category talk:User sgn page.

I noticed you also created a usr sgn-4 template. Personally I am not a fan of the usr xx-4 templates, but will not object to one that is properly constructed. However I blanked it for now as it was full of errors, declaring itself to be sgn-3, then near-native, which links to Category:User sgn-4 and then places the user's name in Category:User sgn-3! The template itself wasn't in a category at all. See Misplaced Pages:Template namespace for a how-to, and Template:Template_sandbox for practising. Cheers, ntennis 03:49, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
