Serhiy Rebrov (Сергій Ребров) (Ukrainian) Born on March 6, 1974 in Gorlovka, Donetsk region, Ukraine. Height: 173cm; weight: 64kg (June 2005). Joined Shakhtar Donetsk as a youth in 1990-1991 season. In August 1992 was signed over into Dynamo Kyiv. Between 1992 and 2000 scored a record of 94 goals in 192 Ukrainian Championship games, 18 goals in 35 Ukrainian Cup games, and 13 goals in a record 65 international appearances. Also, best footballer of the Ukrainian Championship in 1996, 1998, 1999; best footballer in Ukraine in 1996 and 1998; and best stiker of the Ukrainian Championship in 1998. Managed to score several key goals in the European competitions notably in the 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 UEFA Champions League seasons, including a brilliant goal against FC Barcelona when on the 5th minute after recieving a long pass in the penalty box he fired from a very sharp angle (he was on the goalline to the right of the net when he hit it). Successfull performances continued on what was one of the best European seasons since independence of Ukraine. FC Dynamo Kyiv did reach UEFA CL semifinals in 1999, only to loose to FC Bayern Munich on aggregates. In June 2000 he was signed over to FC Tottenham Hotspurs for a club record 11 million Euros. However, his performance was not as great as that in Dynamo Kyiv. Some say it was due to inability to adapt to the English football style. After several loans to other clubs such as Fernebache and Westham. Ultimately, on 1 June 2005 Rebrov became a free agent after declining to re-sign. However, 2 days later he was already sitting in the Dynamo Kyiv president's office ready to sign a new contract, which he did (2+1 year basis). This would be a very vital decision which would greatly help out the club after failing to claim the 2004-2005 Ukrainian Championship title. After the start of the new 2005-2006 season Rebrov made his presence felt on 22 July when he scored with a powerful shot making it 4-0 against Stal' Alchevsk. He also scored in several other championship games, extending his national record to almost 100 goals!
