They have both national and international offices in Boston, Brussels, Chicago, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Milan, Moscow, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Paris, San Diego, San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C.. Latham & Watkins are most notable for their privileged list of Alumni. Notable of which are: Michael Chertoff, DHS director and FEMA Manager during the 2005 US disaster Hurricane Katrina, Fred T. Goldberg, Jr. former Partner and Commissioner of Internal Revenue at the IRS - appointed by George H. Bush, EPA co-administrator Bill Wehrum appointed by George W. Bush in 2004, Rick Bernthal, Maureen Mahoney - appointed as Deputy Solicitor General by George H. Bush in 1991 (later nominated to fill a vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, but the Senate did not act on her nomination prior to the election).
