Brett Ratner (born March 28, 1969) is an American film director and music-video director. He is best known as the director of The Family Man, After the Sunset, Red Dragon, the Rush Hour series, and X-Men: The Last Stand. He is also a producer on the Fox drama, Prison Break. He belongs to the Chabad-Lubavitch sect of Judaism.
Film career
Brett Ratner is often considered to be one of the worst directors in the the last decade. Ratner is known to give in to the studio and change the script and change aspects of the film that were considered good. After the major letdown of X-Men: The Last Stand, Ratner has only been seen associating himself with the likes of Lindsay Lohan, David Arquette, and Andy Dick. Brett Ratner has recently shown interest in shooting a remake of Howard The Duck. George Lucus has stated "If anyone can fuck up that movie more then me and my goiter its Brett Ratner."
Controversy
Ratner is often blamed for such disasters as X-Men: The Last Stand, Global Warming, and the Hindenburg disaster.
Screen appearances
Ratner was seen on MTV series Punk'd when Hugh Jackman, who portrays Wolverine in the X-Men films, was the subject of a practical joke that made it appear Ratner's $3.6 million home in Beverly Hills was destroyed by a BBQ grill explosion. Ashton Kutcher later arrived to his home and hugged him after Jackman was punk'd.
He also appeared as himself in Entourage.
