Thank you for your patience
Hello, I have tried to add information to the Biography of Nathan Rees but you said it was deleted as it was not cited.
The information I woud like to add is:
During 2001 / 2002, Rees was a member of Girraween Athletics Club Inc. and specialised in middle distance events.
... elaborating on his earlier life.
I am President of Girraween Athletics Club Inc. and our club records verify the additions I have made.

- On behalf of Misplaced Pages, but on my own initiative, I apologize for what may have been unclear. Misplaced Pages depends on sources considered reliable, see WP:RS and WP:V. While I'm sure you are ordinarily reliable, our policy requires independent verification. With regard to this information, you could be considered, as well, to have a Conflict of interest.
- However, if you could find, for example, newspaper articles that confirm what your records show, or other publicly available information -- even if not on-line --, I'd be happy to assist you in inserting the information into the article. Above, you were warned against repeatedly inserting material in the presence of objections. I apologize for the term "vandalism" used, which was clearly inappropriate. I will watch this Talk page for response, though you may also always request assistance at my own Talk page.
- However, you should also take the warning above seriously. Edit warring, which is what you were doing, can quickly result in you being blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. Please don't do that; if faced with someone reverting you, get assistance, do not insist, and be sure to remain civil and to assume good faith. --Abd (talk) 14:58, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Nathan Rees
Thank you for your assistance. As we are an Incorporated Club, our records and club information are available to the public. Club members are listed in our Annual Reports which are sent to the Department of Fair Trading each year. Should I cite Giirraween Athletics Club 2001/2002 Annual Report as my source of information?
Regarding the warning .... please accept my ignorance as the reason I actually received the warning. I added the pertinent information to Nathan Rees Biography (Early Life) but could not understand that even though I was saving the inclusions, they kept "disappearing" when I refreshed my screen. Being persistent, I kept trying, completely unaware that Bidgee was "undoing" my edits and sending warnings. Thanks again. --Wilbur56 (talk) 23:00, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- How would a reader of Misplaced Pages verify the information you were inserting? Can you provide scans of the relevant pages in your Annual Report? (you could send them by email to me and/or offer to send them on the Talk page of the article). But we can start with the information, if you simply quoted, in Talk, the exact information, with page numbers, that covers what you were inserting, it would be a start. There remains a question as to notability of the information, so even if we can prove the facts, it may not be sufficient; however, you will note that I started a section on this in Talk for the article, and there, even if you have a COI (Conflict of Interest) as the President of the Club, you can make suggestions, provide information, and the like. You should not directly place the information in the article; generally, with a conflict of interest you should avoid any article edit where you might reasonably expect controversy. But you can suggest it in Talk, and then it will be up to editorial consensus whether or not to accept it. (There are aspects of this situation where I'm a bit out of my expertise as to details of how Misplaced Pages works -- such as uploading images and providing copyright information, something I've never done --, but whatever we need to do, we can find help.) --Abd (talk) 01:17, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Do you know of any newspapers who may have printed (Doesn't have to be online) something about Nathan being involved with the club? Annual Report from the club would have to be looked over by other editors (Not myself but most likely Admins) to see if it can be used. Best thing to do is find a newspaper source if possible. We have to follow WP:BLP for anything added to the article (I removed it since it also failed WP:V and WPRS) and I couldn't find anything online to support the claim.
