Gutierre Tibón (born in Lombardy in 1905, died in Mexico in 1998) was an Italian-Mexican author. He wrote on various mysticist or occult topics, including mystical speculation on the etymology of proper names (1986 etc.), survivals of "paleolithic magic" in a "prenatal triad" of umbilical cord, placenta and amniotic sac (1981), on the navel as cosmic center (1981), on the "magic and tragic rites" of female puberty (1984).

Born and raised in Italy, Tibón moved to Mexico to begin a literary career in 1940. He was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo on 11 October 1946.
