Dr. Gutierre Tibón (born in Lombardy 1905, died in Mexico in 1998) was a credited Italian-Mexican author, linguist, philosopher, anthropologist and historian. He gave insight and wrote on various subjects to include mysticist or occult topics such as: the survivals of "paleolithic magic" in a "prenatal triad" of umbilical cord, placenta and amniotic sac (1981), on the navel as cosmic center (1981), on the "magic and tragic rites" of female puberty (1984). Tibon also had written on subjects of historical significance such as: "Oriental Lore" 'Ethnology' (1944), etymology of proper names 'Ethnology and Linguistics' (1946, and 1986), and the history of the name and foundation of Mexico 'Economics, Psychology and Ethnology' (1975), and the history of the name in America for the past seventy centuries 'Ethnology' (1945).

Born and raised in Italy, Tibón moved to Mexico to begin a literary career in 1940. He was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo on 11 October 1946 for his advanced studies in the fields of linguistics, psychology, and ethnology.
