United States theatrical poster located at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109534/ image description = license = public domain
Fair use for Tripwire (film)
Though the picture is originally copyrighted, I feel it is covered by fair use because: 1. No free or public domain images have been located for this film. 2. The image is of lower resolution than the original poster (copies made from it will be of inferior quality). 3. The image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the film in any way. 4. For an article about a film, the promotional artwork is arguably one of the most important images that could be included. This is the artwork intended for wide distribution. As such, it has future historical significance, and is a more appropriate choice than any other image available. 5. Its inclusion in the article is important because it suggests something of the film's style. 6. This image is used on various websites, so its use on Misplaced Pages does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is. The poster is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original film in any way.
