Adam Dutkiewicz is best known as the lead guitarist from Massachusetts heavy metal band Killswitch Engage.

Dutkiewicz is the chief song-writer in Killswitch Engage. Surprisingly, he claims to be interested in pop music rather than heavy metal, citing the Scottish band Travis as one of his favourite artists.

Dutkiewicz attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, where he graduated with a bass major and a guitar minor.

While at college Dutkiewicz begain playing in the band Aftershock with friend Joel Stroetzel, who would later join him in forming Killswitch Engage. Dutkiewicz was the drummer of Killswitch Engage until the release of its second album, Alive or Just Breathing, when he changed to guitars.

Dutkiewicz assumed the role of producer on all of Killwitch Engage's records.

Dutkiewicz used Caparison guitars, Ibanez effects and Hughes and Kettner amplifiers.
